Alumni Board News

Brad Crosby
We hope that this new quarterly newsletter will give you an opportunity to catch up on recent news and events at VCU School of Engineering (SOE). We will be featuring our alumni and their accomplish-ments in the newsletter and need your help to gather that news. Please email us with information on you, your families, your career and other exciting events in your life.
The members of our recently established School of Engineering Alumni Board would also like to send their greetings to you. The new board consists of 21 members from Chemical, Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with members from all graduating classes. (Listed below.) We encourage each of you to join us in the School of Engineering Alumni Association by giving a gift to the SOE annual fund. Participation, not the amount of the gift is what matters. We decided that a $25 gift to the annual fund, instead of dues, made the most sense, because the contributions could go directly to things that affect our alumni, like some of the items listed below.
With your support the SOE Alumni Board and Alumni Association can better support alumni events, reunions, graduation receptions, newsletters, give back through student scholarships and actively seek to maintain communication with our 800 alumni. We are now beginning planning for the 2005 five-year reunion celebration of the first SOE graduating class. Please give us your feedback on the kinds of events and networking opportunities that would be good for you, so we can make sure our programs meet your expectations.
Our SOE Foundation Trustees, the staff and professors are critical to the success of the school. However, the school cannot reach its full potential and prosper without strong communication with and support from its alumni. Our graduates are already making an impact in fresh business careers and excelling at some of the top graduate schools in the country. Our alumni successes become the School’s successes and we want to hear about them and keep in touch with you.
While we all lead very busy lives, I encourage you to join our SOE Alumni Association and get involved in any way you can. We hope to hear from you with questions, comments or new contact information on other alumni at engineeringalumni@vcu.edu. We are trying to reach some of our classmates whose email addresses are not current in our database.
