Academics

The Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering offers the following academic programs:

Bachelor of Science

The department offers an accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, including the option of obtaining a major concentration in nuclear engineering. A student may declare their intention to enter the nuclear concentration at any point during their undergraduate studies; however, most students will make this choice as they begin taking nuclear engineering courses in their sophomore year.

Master of Science

The department offers a traditional M.S. in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering with either a thesis or non-thesis option and an online M.S. in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering.

Doctor of Philosophy

The department offers a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering.
