Welcome

Engineering and VCU

VCU School of Engineering building Whether you come to us as a student or a faculty member, you will find that the School of Engineering plays an integral role within the entire Virginia Commonwealth University community. We encourage you to think out of the box. Team up with sculpture students from the School of the Arts, immerse yourself in Virginia’s largest aquatic ecosystem or work with clinicians from our medical center — however you collaborate, you’ll find that the diverse experience you gain matches no other.

The university community

VCU offers 181 undergraduate, graduate, professional and certificate programs, several of which are nationally ranked and many are the only programs of their kind to be offered in the commonwealth of Virginia. Engineering students study at the Monroe Park Campus, sharing many general education classes with students from the College of Humanities and Sciences (including the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs and the schools of Mass Communications and World Studies) and the schools of the Arts, Business, Education, Engineering and Social Work, as well as with those students studying the life sciences.
