Graduate students
Graduate students in the School of Engineering have the opportunity to pursue the Master of Science and the Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Research thrust areas in chemical and life science engineering include:
- Advanced polymers, including biopolymers and polymers in medicine
- Chemical and biochemical reactor analysis
- The study of supercritical fluids for environmentally favorable processes
- Systems biological engineering
- Stem cell engineering
- Biosensors and biochips
- Computational bioinformatics and rational drug design
The Department of Chemical and Life Science Engineering also is developing a new M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomolecular and Life Science Engineering to help fulfill the needs of the growing bioengineering and biotechnology industry in the U.S. and abroad.
