What is this workshop?
This short course is a weeklong set of classes and activities that illustrate how to use your PRA model in common regulatory compliance applications.Why you should attend:
This workshop has been designed for the PRA professional with little or no experience in any of the focus areas listed below. This training will enable you to perform or support risk analyses in these common compliance applications. The course will include both lectures and hands-on practice in typical analyses.
This course is NOT designed to teach you how to develop or construct a full PRA model. However, we will teach you how to use it to perform common risk analyses needed by your engineering, operations and licensing staff.
What you will learn?
How to use your PRA model to:
- Perform event risk analysis in NRC Management Directive 8.3 and Significance Determination Process (SDPs) scenarios.
- Provide useful risk input for the 10 CFR 50.65(a)(1) (“Maintenance Rule”) program.
- Develop risk input to support a risk-informed Technical Specifications change package.
- Perform common 10 CFR 50.65 (a)(4) configuration risk analyses.
- Develop risk-based input to the Mitigating Systems Performance Indicators (MSPI) program.
- Perform calculations in support of Risk-Informed In-Service Inspection.
Where is it held?
The course will be held at the Engineering School on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Doubletree Motel at the conference rate of $89 plus tax, just a few blocks from the Engineering buildings. The site is a short distance from the Richmond Airport and near the intersection of two major interstate highways.
