VCU-Fudan Summer Research Program

Welcome to the Virginia Commonwealth University – Fudan University Summer Research Program at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Engineering. This program has been developed to promote the exchange of students, ideas, and cooperative research opportunities among the faculty of Fudan University and the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Engineering (VCU SoE). Students from Fudan University will be chosen to participate in cutting-edge research projects at VCU SoE during the upcoming summer session.

Participants will travel to Richmond, Virginia in late June and work with world renowned researchers for five weeks. Students will be chosen to work on projects that best fit their interest and technical skills. Projects will be from Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Students will be exposed to state-of-the-art instrumentation and technology. This experience will raise student interest and awareness in international science and engineering issues and give the selected student the opportunity to live, study, and work in another culture.

Students selected will receive a stipend that will cover travel expenses and salary. Along with working in the research laboratories in the School of Engineering, students will stay in university housing and participate outings and trips to near-by attractions.

The deadline to apply for the 2009 Summer Research Program has passed. Applications for the 2009 program are no longer being accepted.

Information about the 2010 Summer Research Program will be made available in October 2009.
