Research Experience

  • Developed physical models using Rapid Prototyping Technology such as Stereolithography Process (SLA), and  Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)
  • Developed statistical models for piezoelectric synthetic jet actuator design and analysis using regression analysis tools, analysis of variance techniques, design of experiment methods.
  • Studied synthetic jets in a wind tunnel for automotive applications by performing flow visualizations experiments.
  • Designed, characterized and optimized piezoelectric synthetic jets for aerospace applications using piezoelectric diaphragms to maximize the speed of the jet formed.
  • Experimentally studied the electromechanical properties of piezoelectric composites: Bimorph (Piezo Systems Inc., Massachusetts); Lipca (Konkuk University, Korea); Radial Field Diaphragms (NASA LRC, Virginia); Thunder® (Face International Inc., Virginia)
